MPA Application Filing Dates

Applicants should have their Cal State Apply applications complete and all official transcripts submitted to University Admissions by the University deadline date.

Deadlines listed on Cal State Apply may be different than the deadlines noted below. We cannot guarantee that applications/documents submitted after the Program deadlines will be processed prior to the start of the semester. Hence, applicants must consider our internal application processing timeline and are strongly encouraged to meet the Program deadline listed below.

  • Program Deadline: refers to the preferred program deadline including the Cal State Apply application and submission of the statement of purpose, resume, and letters of recommendation.
  • Final Deadline: refers to the final university deadline including the Cal State Apply application and submission of the statement of purpose, resume, and letters of recommendation.
  • Document Deadline: refers to the final deadline for the submission of all official transcripts ONLY.
Online Modalities

MPA - Specialized Concentrations* (8 week format)

The MPA 8-week online program with concentrations in Criminal Justice Policy & Administration, Health Care Policy & Administration, and Non-profit Management is offered in three 16 week terms each year. Terms include Spring, Summer, and Fall.

On-Campus Modality

The MPA on-campus program runs only two semesters per year - Fall and Spring. We currently accept new applicants for the Fall semester ONLY.

*International applicants must apply by April 1 with all required transcripts. Submissions made after this date may result in rejection due to timing of student visa issuance.

Application Fees

An application fee of $70 in U.S. funds, payable to CSUDH, must accompany your application. The fee is nonrefundable and may not be transferred to another term and/or to another campus.**Application material received and accepted after the published deadline may incur an additional $15.00 application fee and requires approval from the Department. 
**Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The deadlines listed above are final deadlines and should viewed as such. Applicants generally receive an admissions decision 4-6 weeks after all documents have been received.
